Does anyone have any ideas of the best e-mail to use? I'm using a hotmail account at the minute, but can't reply to e-mails very easily using jaws. I've been using hotmail for about a year and a half and only just found out where the send button is.
There's Yahoo or Gmail. The're both free and you can set up Outlook Express with them.
I personally recommend GMail. If youwant to use the web interface, the basic html view is extremely accessible, and if you want to use a program like outlook express or eudora to access your email, it's very easy to set it up. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help.
I use something called loopymail. www.loopymail.com. I don't know if it has pop three but it's easy enough to get around. Take a look at it for yourself and set up an account. It's free and you can let it expire if you don't like it. I use it for my zone email and I use it for some of my personal emails too. Try it. It's not as common as some other ones like hotmail and gmail but it's good enough for webmail. I think your jaws should be ok with it. Just a warning though. If you leave the thing open, you get some pop ups now and then.
Will my hotmail account expire if I don't use it, or will it just stay there?
I believe it expires, so its a good idea if you hear from people regularly to go in once every couple of weeks to check the account. I have a Yahoo account, and do it the same way. I've heard nice things about the accessibility of gmail, but haven't used it myself.

I use yahoo and hotmail. How do you set up Outlook Express with your yahoo email account? I've tried doing it and for some reason it doesn't work.
try creating an account with gmail and configure it with your outlook. and, as per your hotmail account, if you are using the same for your insteant messenger, you need not worry about the expiry, you see.
and as per the yahoo, you have to download and install yahoo POPs, a third party software for configuring it to your outlook, you know.
ask me, if you have any further doubts....

There is a website my friend gave a while back that has the pop3 and smtp for these and other accounts. It is

Well, as far as i've seen, gmail is the best, i can't stand hotmail personly. lol It's eazy as to set up gmail, and, really accessible.

g mail is good, when you sign up there is an audio capture, so you don't need anyone to read you the screen. i also like fast mail, the only down side to that, is that the mailbox fills up pretty quickly, but it's really accesible, and as long as you check it often, i don't see a problem
Thanks for all of the suggestions. I'll look into that.
I'll look at the gmail one again. That seems to be what most people suggest. Thank you.
My best friend has GMail and he uses it a lot.
I'm personally using gmail with thunderbird, because you can get portable version, and because I don't like microsoft.
Allso, gmail has one good thing - when my pc crashed (wery often), I lost all my mails stored in thunderbird. On gmail, you can enable to download all mails on pop3 (not sure if it can be done with imap), so all mails stored in gmail (in all folders, I think) will go to your client application.
Then you can simply switch to download mails that'll come from now and you're okay.
